XP, coins, streaks and badges
A guide for parents to the rewards your child will be talking about.
⭐ XP and levels
Every correct word pays XP, and XP fills a level bar. Levels are the long game — a visible record that a month of practice actually happened.
🪙 Coins
Earned alongside XP, and spent inside the game — on hints during a round, and on avatar items. Coins are play money: they are never a way to buy Premium, and Premium is never needed to earn them.
🔥 Streaks
A streak counts consecutive days with practice. This is the single most effective feature for the thing parents actually want — five short sessions a week instead of one long one the night before the test.
🏆 Badges and daily quests
Badges mark milestones (first steps, a 3-day streak, a perfect round, 500 words spelled). A daily quest offers a small, specific goal — “spell 10 food words today” — with a coin and XP payout.
Common questions
Can my child buy coins with real money?
No. Coins are earned by practising, full stop. The only purchase in Spelly is unlocking AI features, which is a parent-side decision.
Does losing a streak lose their progress?
No. Streaks reset, but XP, levels, badges and lists are permanent.
